KAFP elects new officers & board members
WICHITA, KANSAS— Members of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians (KAFP) elected officers and leaders at its 2017 KAFP Annual Meeting in June at the Marriott Hotel in Wichita, Kan. The meeting and pre-session brought together 166 family physicians and registrants from across the state of Kansas and offered up to 19.5 AAFP continuing medical education credits.

About the 2017-18 President:
John Feehan MD, FAAFP of Olathe, Kansas, was installed on June 9, 2017 as the 69th president of the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. John Feehan celebrates 30 years of practicing at Olathe Family Practice this year. He has held numerous leadership positions with Olathe Medical Center, including President of the Medical Staff. He facilitated the introduction of a Medical Ethics Committee, chairing it for eight years and has represented primary care on two insurance boards.

He led Olathe Family Practice in becoming the second NCQA certified Patient Centered Medical Home in Kansas. A champion of EHR, he is the lead physician of his practice in becoming a CPC+ site.

Dr. Feehan attended the University of Kansas earning degrees in Chemistry and Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Goppert Family Medicine in Kansas City.

Dr. Feehan first served as a KAFP District Director in 2008. In 2014 he was elected to a 5-year-term on the Executive Committee, currently serving as 2017-18 Board President. His hobbies include camping, marathons/triathlons, and playing the bagpipes, serving as the quartermaster of Kansas City St. Andrew’s Pipes and Drums. Dr. Feehan and his wife, Deb, have four children. He credits Deb, his faith and family as his balance in life.
